Time Lag

January 20, 2008

Jet lag is a dirsruption of the body’s circadian rhythm, leading to fatigue, disorientation, and broken sleep patterns. It is mainly caused by transmeridian air travel, but others causes include shift work, daylight savings time, and of course — time travel.

If you think crossing time zones is hard on your biological cycle, imagine crossing time periods.

I just returned from Pangea in the Meszoic Era. (It really is a super continent!) Getting there was ok – I got used to the high-oxygen, high-dinosaur environment pretty quickly. But getting back! Let me tell you! I just can’t stay awake! You see, when it’s night-time here, there it’s 250 million years in the past. So you can imagine.
